Research adjunct/Research Associate Grade 6/7:Job description:Job location: Liverpool We have a great opportunity to join the multi-disciplinary team delivering the University's flagship birth cohort - Children Growing Up in Liverpool. Funded by the Wellcome Trust this cohort will track the lives of 10,000 mothers, babies and their families gaining insight into the generation of health inequalities and long-term health conditions across the life course. This post will work on an enrichment grant to deliver and evaluate additional public engagement activities across the Liverpool City Region, to understand how people perceive health and health inequalities, how data are used to inform policy, and to foster the ownership of the Children Growing Up in Liverpool birth cohort study in the wider community. You will work collaboratively as part of a wider team, with specific responsibility to co-create a series of arts-located engagement activities and events to engage with new parents, children and young people and their families, particularly those from minoritized and marginalised groups. You should have demonstrable expertise in public engagement, ideally with a focus on creative activities, and a good knowledge of qualitative, participatory research methods. practice of writing research outputs, such as journal articles and reports, and good co-ordination and project management expertise are required. Ideally you will have practice of and/or be familiar with patient and community engagement in applied health/social care research and the literature on health inequalities.
