Research adjunct (Scottish Demonstration Farm):Job description:Job location: Aberdeenshire Research adjunct to be located at the Game and Wildlife Scottish Demonstration Farm, Auchnerran The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust is an independent wildlife conservation charity, producing robust science to enhance farmland, moorland, woodland and river management for the conservation of game and other wildlife. The Trust took over the management of a hill-edge farm in Aberdeenshire in 2015. The Scottish Game & Wildlife Demonstration Farm, near Aboyne is 417ha farm with 5,000ha summer hill grazing for sheep. It demonstrates the interaction of a profitable hill-edge farm with sound game and wildlife conservation practices and carries out research to inform significant regenerative agricultural and wildlife conservation best practice as well as developing Natural Capital accounting methods and carbon sequestration measurement. The function represents an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and practiced post-graduate research adjunct who will undertake a wide variety of ecological surveying on our Scottish Game & Wildlife Demonstration Farm. The prosperous candidate will be involved with a varied programme of research into regenerative agricultural practices to enhance biodiversity and mitigate climate change with the aim to influence management of hill-edge and upland livestock farms and the future of game and wildlife conservation in Scotland.
