North Wales Organisation for Randomised Trials in Health & Social Care
Applications are invited for the above full-time post working in Bangor University's Clinical Trials Unit, the North Wales Organisation for Randomised Trials in Health and Social Care, (NWORTH).
NWORTH is a UKCRC registered Clinical Trials Unit, (CTU). The post holder will be key to maintaining NWORTH's high degree of commitment to excellence in designing, conducting and reporting high quality trials research.
The prosperous candidate will be responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operations of the CTU. This is a varied function, which would suit a positive and highly numerate individual with a solution-focused approach. The applicant should have exceptional communication and organisational skills and be able to juggle a demanding workload, regularly working to tight deadlines. They will manage all the HR and financial processes of the unit, monitor the progress of projects, the delivery of milestones and plan the resourcing and workload of the unit. The prosperous candidate is expected to have proven practice managing a multidisciplinary team.
The CTU Manager undertakes a continuing process of monitoring, review and refinement of working practices at the CTU to ensure adaptation to changes in either the regulatory environment or the scientific needs of the CTU.
Reporting to the Director of NWORTH, the CTU Manager will provide skills and advice to the wider team on matters including research governance, sponsorship, contracting, project management and financial management. They will line manage a team including Trial Managers, IT Specialists, Statisticians, Quality Assurance agents and Administrative staff. The ideal applicant will have the capability to manage a wide variety of both internal and external stakeholder relationships (across a range of organisations and at all levels of seniority).
The person appointed will possess a first degree in a significant discipline (e.g. law, business management, health studies) and/or equivalent practice.
The prosperous candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible and the post is available on a full-time basis until 31st March 2023.
