Overview
We are seeking for an enthusiastic and practiced occupational therapist to join the Department of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Nutritional Therapy in the School of Allied Health and Community. You will join a friendly and supportive team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists and nutritional therapists, who play key functions in the delivery and on-going development of the BSc and MSc (pre-registration) courses in the Department. You should expect to be actively involved in curriculum and module development and design, creatively considering teaching and learning within a dynamic team. Responsibilities for the post will include leading modules and teaching on the occupational therapy courses and supporting practice education. We expect and encourage all staff to participate in a variety of modules in occupational therapy, and other disciplines, at foundation, under-graduate and post-graduate (including pre-registration) level where significant. This is a full or part-time post.
The physiotherapy and occupational therapy staff work as an inter-professional team, teaching collaboratively across shared and profession specific modules at all academic levels and you will be expected to share this philosophy. You may also be involved in teaching Foundation Year students, preparing them for professional education, and will play a part in practice education, undertaking practice visits virtually and in person. As a student-centred inclusive university, your function will include being a Personal and Academic Tutor, to support and encourage students to achieve their potential. You will also supervise students with their dissertation and participate in admissions and recruitment events where we work collaboratively with our colleagues in IMPACT, the university service-user group, who support teaching, recruitment, and curriculum development. In addition, the post holder will be expected to play an active function within the School, which may include involvement in the delivery of CPD activity across a range of programmes. All staff are expected to engage in research or scholarly activity relating to their level of practice to enhance their own professional and academic development.
Background
