This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of enthusiastic, dynamic and friendly staff within the School of Psychology to deliver teaching on our new PGCert in Mental Health and Wellbeing that began in March 2022. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates who would be interested in working on a fractional basis with us whilst also maintaining clinical practice on a fractional basis.
Psychology at the University of Worcester has a long-standing history, with a thriving BPS accredited suite of BSc Psychology courses running since 1994 and an MSc course in Counselling running since 2009. The School has an already impressive portfolio of undergraduate courses including Single Honours Psychology, Clinical and Counselling Psychology, as well as named awards in Business, Forensic, Health, and Sport & Exercise Psychology, and Criminology. Our postgraduate courses include Counselling, Business and Occupational Psychology, EMDR Therapy and knowledge Domestic and Sexual Violence.
The School comprises two departments; Performance, Health and Wellbeing, and Violence avoidance, Trauma and Criminology, and is underpinned by a commitment to deliver a forward-thinking, dynamic, creative community dedicated to personal growth and professional development in the fields of psychology and criminology. this function sits within the department of Violence avoidance, Trauma and Criminology. more information about ourstaff profilesandresearch areasshow our depth and breadth of practice of applied psychology including mental health and wellbeing. The prosperous candidate(s) will be confident and competent in teaching across all areas of mental health and wellbeing, including assessing, planning and delivering interventions for people with severe mental health problems. There may also be the opportunity to teach on other clinical and counselling psychology modules across the School. They will also act as a personal academic tutor (PAT) to students on the PGCert Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner course.Their teaching approach will be student-centred and research or practice-inspired. As the function will also require the development and maintenance of productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, the prosperous candidate(s) will therefore need a high level of interpersonal skill to promote a high-quality practice for all our stakeholders. They will have a strong commitment to continuing professional development, scholarly engagement and to interprofessional and international perspectives. Furthermore for appointment as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer prosperous candidate(s) will also demonstrate a clear engagement and competency in research activity and practices commensurate with the stage of their career.
