Employcapability and Placements Advisor:Job description:Job location: Cornwall, Penryn The University of Exeter is looking to recruit an Employcapability and Placements Advisor to be located at our Penryn Campus in Cornwall. This full time, permanent function is available from June. SEAS resides within the Education and Student Support Directorate which is responsible for providing key education and administrative support activities that underpin the student practice. SEAS consists of professional services teams that provide a portfolio of educational activities to assist students with the development of their academic, professional, personal, career and employcapability attributes all over their time at University, including global practice opportunities. We are recruiting an Employcapability and Placements Advisor located at our Penryn Campus to support students to secure placements and develop their work-located expertise. Including support of placements and other work related learning activity, expertise workshops, 1:1 advice and support and employer liaison as set out below. Summary of the function » As part of the Student Employcapability and Development (SED) team, the function will include providing 'one to one' support to students and graduates, delivery of employcapability related workshops and presentations and?the planning, development, coordination and delivery of employcapability provision via Colleges and as part of the wider portfolio of activity delivered by SEAS. The main aspects of the function include:? » Providing student employcapability and sectoral training, enterprise education, support and advice. » Advising students on preparation for internships, place-located learning, graduate work and further study. » Support students whilst on placement including wider place-located learning (e.g. global leaders, Pathways) » Build and strengthen links with regional, national and international graduate employers and place-located learning opportunity providers » Identify, shape and develop project and work practice opportunities for students. These activities will include a range of employcapability related initiatives and work with academic staff, professional services staff, alumni and employers. Provision via the University's colleges (academic disciplines), centrally and in collaboration with Employcapability Consultants and other SEAS staff and educators where appropriate. Skills:
