Part Time (3 days/21 hours per week)
ADMIN 2 £30,616 FTE
The University of Buckingham is among the fifteen smallest in the UK and is rightly proud of its distinctive features, namely: it is the only private University in the UK with a Royal Charter; secondly, it pioneered the first accelerated (two-year) degree; and finally, it provides students with a personalised learning practice through its small-group academic tutorial system and exceptional pastoral care provision.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to provide oversight and management of the everyday operations of the faculty and university quality assurance processes. To advise the Dean, Faculty Registrar, Programme Director and other academic and professional services staff within the faculty on university regulations, policies and procedures, whilst also ensuring the university's academic bodies' regulatory compliance and quality standards are met and support is provided to the faculty to help maintain and exceed those standards. Our Faculty Quality Manager will play a key function in the smooth day-to-day operation of the following areas:
» Programme Management: new approvals, reviews, monitoring, and change requests
   » External Examiners
   » Faculty Boards and Committees
   » Continuous Improvement Projects
The prosperous candidate will be a strong, confident and effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and presentation expertise. Analytical, problem-solving and project management capabilities will be key to enable the work of continuous improvement within the faculty and more broadly supporting institutional reviews and projects. The prosperous applicant will ideally have current practice or a good consciousness of these key areas; however, full training and support will be provided.
» Secondary, HE and/or FE Quality Standards and Processes
» External regulatory bodies, assessments, inspections and reporting
Please refer to the Job Profile for more details about the key responsibilities of this function.
This is a part-time function, ideally starting in June 2022, located at the University's Buckingham campus. The three days are negotiable upon a prosperous interview process.
