Job Offer: Research Fellow, Fantasia Research Project:Job description:Job location: Belfast Ref: 22/109815 Duration: Fixed Term for 25 months or available until November 2024, whichever is the soonest Hours: Full-time income: £34,304 per annum The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Queen's University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to be a highly productive, ambitious, and collaborative member of the Fantasia research project. As Research Fellow, the prosperous candidate will contribute to the planning and delivery of the research activity and assist in the development of future research proposals, with the research activity focusing on the development of automated approaches for the finite element analysis of aviation power plants. This is a great opportunity and the prosperous candidate will work in close collaboration with both industrial partners (Rolls Royce) and academic partners (Cranfield University). The prosperous candidate must have and your CV/Cover letter (or application form) should clearly demonstrate that: » You have, or are about to obtain a significant PhD in the field of Computer Aided Engineering » At least 3 years significant research practice to include: - Demonstrable practice with CAD parametrization - Demonstrable practice with Finite Element Analysis - Demonstrable practice in programming/scripting, beyond that taught in undergraduate engineering courses - A proven track record of using numerical models to carry out analyses, critical evaluations, and interpretations of data. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availcapability of funding.
