The School of Psychology has delivered a BPS accredited two-year undergraduate programme for 15 years and an accredited full time MSc in Health Psychology since 2018.
The Post
We are seeking for a appropriate candidate with skills in Health Psychology to contribute to our BPS accredited MSc Health Psychology and BSc Psychology programmes at Buckingham. The prosperous candidate will be expected to teach on the Health MSc programme (around two thirds) and the undergraduate BSc Psychology programme (around one third) as well as other administrative lecturing tasks. The prosperous applicant will also contribute to the research environment of the School of Psychology (however, teaching only contracts may be considered).
It is essential that the candidate:
   » Be eligible for full membership of the BPS Division of Health Psychology (for accreditation purposes).
   » Have an interest in tutorial teaching (with a maximum of seven students in each tutorial) and our strategy of encouraging engaging and innovative teaching techniques.
   » Be student focused in their approach given the quality contact time we have with our students.
   » Have some familiarity with BPS standards for accreditation, programme or module-level governance and quality assurance processes
   » Be prepared to engage in continuing professional development and training within psychology.
It is desirable that the candidate:
   » Have a PhD, DPhil or professional doctorate (DHealthPsy) in psychology
   » Have practice of the BPS accreditation process
   » Have practice of teaching students at Level 7
   » Be a Fellow of the HEA
