Offer: Senior Researcher (Smart Textile):Job description:Job location: Chester Fixed Term Contract from 2nd November 2022 until 1st May 2025 The Department of Physical, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences is seeking to appoint a Senior Researcher in developing the smart textile for monitoring loneliness of ageing people when they live independently. The researcher will work under the supervision of the Researcher Professor, Prof Yu Shi, on the EPSRC funded project ?DELONELINESS? in collaboration with Kings College London and University of Sussex. The researcher will assist other project partners and their researchers with the implementation of these controllers and simulation nanomaterials and optimal design of electronics embedded within textile materials for monitoring human's emotion, more specifically, the loneliness. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated person to draw on your skills and skills to contribute to the research activity within the department. You should possess a PhD and/or equivalent practice in electronic engineering, mechatronics, smart textile materials with a focus of smart systems with sensing and communication for monitoring of human body signals where the emotion monitoring will be desirable. A strong background in electronics design including bio-sensors, antennas, passive and active microwave devices, and impedance matching techniques etc. practiced in electronic design, such as PCB circuits design with power management, ideally for practices with low-power microcontrollers. Proven and sustained track record of publishing high quality papers. practices on nanomaterials processing for smart textile and fibres.
