The University is seeking to appoint two Pro Vice Chancellors to give creative, effective leadership abilities across the University's academic portfolio. An authentic leader, with the capability to lead across the breadth of disciplines within their portfolio and the wider community, both new Pro Vice Chancellors will play a key function within and for the University. The new Pro Vice Chancellors will be strategic, creative thinkers, able to analyse new situations, create new opportunities and formulate imaginative, effective solutions whilst working co-operatively and harmoniously with a notably collegiate team. Both postholders will have a strong commitment to the values of the University, including the principles of widening participation, diversity, equality, inclusion and academic freedom. Pro Vice Chancellor, Education, Culture and Society As a key member of the University Executive, reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Education, Culture and Society will provide leadership abilities to the four Heads of School who lead the University's provision in: Arts; Business including Computing; Education; Humanities. This postholder will guide and support the delivery of excellence across this range of academic activities, advancing education, research and expertise exchange whilst enhancing student and staff achievements. Working closely with other members of the University's executive and the Heads of School the postholder will develop the University's educational portfolio, partnerships and beneficial impact. Pro Vice Chancellor, Health and Science As a key member of the University Executive, reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Health and Science will provide leadership abilities to the six Heads of School who lead the University's provision in: Allied Heath and Community; Medicine; Nursing and Midwifery; Psychology, Science and the Environment; Sport and Exercise Science This postholder will guide and support the delivery of excellence across this range of academic activities, advancing education, research and expertise exchange whilst enhancing student and staff achievements.
