tasks of the function
located in the Law Clinic, the function will involve supervising advice and representation given to members of the public by students working in the Law Clinic, assisting with training such students, and contributing to development of the Clinic's policies, procedures and direction. As an ASE appointee, the selected candidate will contribute to the School's development of innovative and engaging clinical legal education and pedagogy. The appointee will also contribute to teaching of core and optional undergraduate modules, and demonstrate a commitment to providing an engaging, innovative curriculum that meets the modern needs of our student body. The prosperous candidates will take an active function in the administration of the Law Clinic and/or the School.
expertise and qualifications required
The Law Clinic is seeking an practiced legal practitioner and/or law clinician with practice of supervising cases in one or more areas of social welfare law (such as employment, immigration, family, housing, mental health, or welfare benefits law). The prosperous candidate will have substantial practice of legal practice and/or law clinical legal education, public legal education (street law) and/or practitioner training. They will have practice in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, or demonstrable potential to engage in teaching and learning support in engaging and innovative ways.
