Our national organisation provides researchers with data access, training and support to use the UK's largest collection of social, economic and population data. The data we hold and the research this enables, provides insights to potentially help to improve societal challenges such as poverty, social mobility, educational inequalities and crime,whilst supporting other positive policy developments and reform. The research our data repository enables will become even more critical to the UK as the cost-of-living crisis develops.
We have a great opportunity for a highly-organised individual to join our professional, customer-focused Communications and Engagement team. You will provide essential operational management and administration for timely delivery of a range of national and internationally focused activities across communications, engagement and training in the UK Data Archive (UKDA) and UK Data Service (UKDS).
A critical part of the Communications and Engagement team, this function will also manage our Communications Training and Engagement Administrator to coordinate and facilitate marketing and events, upload digital materials and videos, training material production, promotional activities, and senior diary management. You will love coordinating and organising, and practice tracking and driving project delivery across multiple activities and stakeholders simultaneously. You will have strong communication expertise and practice of engaging and building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
located in the Communications and Engagement team of the UKDA, this function will contact closely with other directorates in Manchester, as required, alongside internal customers and teams. The job requires a high level of independent working and problem-solving, alongside collaborative team work across multiple partners and locations. The capability to prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines across the team are met, to the professional standard required, is vital.
You will gain expertise and practice of working with academics and funders across Europe who are working in the field of data expertise training, data impact and data curation across disciplines. You will play an important function in ensuring appropriate access to data and resources for multiple research communities. You will use and improve your high-level coordination, engagement and communications expertise and help to deliver major data literacy training programmes across the UK and beyond.
This post is fixed term until 31 March 2024 due to funding. Whilst this is a full-time post, we would consider part-time working up to 0.8 FTE (28.8 hours per week) or a job share arrangement could be considered and we would similarly welcome applications from those looking to work up to 0.5 FTE (18 hours per week) on this basis.
