This post offers an exciting opportunity for an practiced, skilled and ambitious academic leader to join Newman University at an early stage of the development of Nursing and Allied Health provision .
As part of its comprehensive review, Newman University, Birmingham is extending its portfolio to include professional Nursing and Allied Health programmes. The University already offers a range of subjects aligned with health and care education. These include undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Health and Social Care, Psychology and Sport.
As the Head of Subject and lead for placements and clinical simulation you will work with the Head of School and the three other Heads of Subject to proactively identify and secure placement opportunities for nursing and allied health students by developing supportive and progressive relationships with new and existing stakeholders. You will strategically and operationally develop and manage policies and processes to assure a quality practice learning practice.
You will work with the Head of School (Associate Dean) to support the development and assessment of clinical and procedural expertise through simulated learning in line with the NMC Standards of Proficiency (2018) and HCPC standards. this function involves coordinating clinical expertise and simulation teaching within the school curriculum. This includes designing and delivering expertise teaching, simulation scenarios, and practical assessments. You will work with the subject teams to ensure an engaging, safe, and contemporary learning practice.
