The Division of Infection and Immunity is inviting applications for aResearch Associate position to investigate circadian rhythms (effects of different times of day) on the immune system, influencing development and therapy of Type 1 diabetes. The post-holder will be a member of the Diabetes Research Group that includes research groups of Dr James Alexander Pearson, Professor F. Susan Wong and Professor Colin Dayan within the Division of Infection and Immunity, School of Medicine.

The post is funded by the Medical Research Council, and will focus on studying the immune response at different times of day in an in vivo spontaneous mouse model of autoimmune type 1 diabetes to understand the interaction between time-of-day and autoimmunity. This is an exciting new area of investigation and will involve using genetic, molecular, cell biology, and flow cytometric approaches. Candidates should have practical practice of immunology (particularly T and B cells).
