Building on our strengthening REF submissions, we are developing our research distinctiveness. In the next 5 years we intend to further grow our research culture by focusing on our core strengths and skills within our research themes of environment, social issues and policy, sport and exercise science, and media and culture, and our expertise exchange priorities of maritime, sustainable business, social justice, health and wellbeing, student entrepreneurship, and engineering. We would like to recruit a candidate who shares these research and expertise exchange ambitions and can contribute to the research culture at Solent, joining our active research community. In your function, you will be supported to be involved in research, expertise exchange and scholarly activity. Solent Business School, Solent University Southampton seeks to appoint up a Lecturer in Accountancy and Finance (grade / spinal point will depend on practice) to support learning and teaching across our UG, PG, apprenticeships, and Executive / professional education portfolio. A Professional Qualification in Accounting with full UK membership of ACCA, ICAEW or close equivalent is essential. We particularly welcome candidates who also hold a PhD in Accounting or Finance (or close to completion) and / or who have significant teaching and industry practice in Accountancy and Finance. Modules range from level 4-7. Candidates must demonstrate they have significant practice to teach across a number of modules (please specific your capcapability and preference) from: Accountancy Skills Financial Reporting and Analysis (intermediate and advanced) Audit Principles Current Audit Issues Financial Management and Corporate Financial Management And we would also be interested in candidates with practice of UK Taxation Principles and Taxation Practice. We want to recruit a lecturer who thrives on innovating curriculum, designing engaging learning environments, and assuring an excellent student practice and graduate results. Familiarity with virtual learning environments, hybrid teaching, blended learning and online pedagogies is essential. The expectation is that the candidate will demonstrate the capability to contribute to our research and expertise exchange agenda, which is currently focussed around enterprise, entrepreneurship, SME growth and sustainable business. The function is dynamic and will involve designing, superviseing, delivering course content and assessment, (including exams), that meet University and accrediting body standards, team-working, module leading, research-informed teaching, supervision, real-world assessments, pastoral support, and engaging to deliver the University Strategy and uphold Solent Values.
