Job Offer: Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Writing for Young People:Job description:Job location: Bath Contract: Permanent Hours: 1 x 0.4 FTE and 1 x 0.6 FTE income: 0.4 FTE £15,917 - £20,118 (pro rata of £39,739 - £50,296), 0.6 FTE £23,843 - £30,177 (pro rata of £39,739 - £50,296) About the function The function focuses on learning and teaching, programme design, development and delivery, supported by practice and research in Creative Writing. About you You will have practice of university-level teaching, and a demonstrable track record in publishing for children and / or young people, a clear knowledge of the market for children's books and books for young adults, and of the contexts within which children and young people read and make choices about what to read. You will make a key contribution to our highly prosperous Masters programme in Writing for Young People, and to undergraduate teaching. You will be comfortable working in interdisciplinary teams, and willing to explore the potential connections between your own areas skills and those of your colleagues elsewhere in the School and the wider University. Creative Writing at Bath Spa Creative writing is well-established at Bath Spa University with a large undergraduate programme, which includes combinations with subjects such as Publishing and English Literature, five taught MA programmes and a prosperous PhD Creative Writing programme. We offer an MA in Writing for Young People, together with teaching in this field on our undergraduate courses. The MA is highly regarded in the industry, and has a prosperous track record in supporting students to become published authors. There are opportunities to build on this, and to contribute to the development new short courses as well as to the continuing development of our established provision.
