This full-time post is available from 1September 2022 on an open-ended, time limited funding basis until 1 February 2027.
The function
We are pursuing to appoint an Education & Scholarship Lecturer with a particular interest in Marine Biology, Marine Environmental Management and Marine Conservation. This positionis within the Centre for Ecology and Conservation, College of Life and Environmental Sciences, at the Penryn (Cornwall) campus of the University of Exeter. The post will have responsibility for the design, development and production of teaching and learning material delivered as part of the Biology degree programmes offered at the University of Exeter's campus in Cornwall, with a particular focus on delivering teaching related to Marine Conservation Biology.
About you
For a Lecturer post you will:
   » Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core expertise in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent in Marine Conservation Biology to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning;
   » Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
   » Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
   » Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review
   » Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
