Offer: Impact Fellow (Earth Observation and Visualisation) ERDF:Job description:Job location: Cornwall Innovation Impact and Business / College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, Camborne School of Mines This full time post is available from 06 June 2022 on a fixed term basis until 30 June 2023, located on the Penryn Campus in Cornwall. It is funded through the European Regional Development Fund and forms part of the European Strategic Investment Framework for Cornwalland the Isles of Scilly. this function offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some in the house. Summary of the function We are searching for an Impact Fellow to carry out research on the Deep Digital Cornwall project. We are seeking for a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher or equivalent with outstanding flexible digital expertise especially in satellite imagery for earth observation to work with regional SMEs as well as academic colleagues. Deep Digital Cornwall will give Cornwall and IoS SME businesses access to research expertise, expertise, data and facilities to carry out digital research and development of innovative products related to the underground environment (mining, geothermal, civil engineering, environmental, surveying, water resources, planning and permitting, heritage, tourism) and its connections to the surface. A new ?Deep Digital Cornwall' Hub will be established on the Penryn University Campus, including a visualisation suite and specialist computing. A large team of academics and specialists from the University of Exeter (Camborne School of Mines and Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence), South West Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications, Cornish Lithium, Cornwall Resources, will help SMEs tackle digital research challenges and expand.
