located in the Faculty of Health, the School of Nursing and Midwifery programmes in the fields of adult, child and mental health nursing and in midwifery have been designed with our students' career and the future needs of the workforce in mind. The School works in partnership with local NHS trusts to drive forward clinical research and support students in their learning to become the best nurses and midwives they can be. State-of-the-art facilities and equipment help students maximise their potential and develop their core expertise, preparing them to embark on exciting and compensateing careers.
The School offers further support for student career and professional development in the areas of healthcare, surgical care practice, emergency care and general practice nursing. An interdisciplinary approach to research covers sustaincapability, the evolution of services, use of new genetic knowledge and technologies, the ageing population, use of internet and mobile technologies, changes in clinical education, contemporary nursing, and how knowledge is translated into practice and policy.
The University of Plymouth has a strong interdisciplinary research ethos which is supported by our three strategic Research Institutes: the Marine Institute, the Sustainable Earth Institute, and the Plymouth Institute of Health and Care Research. The eHealth Productivity and Innovation in Cornwall (EPIC2) project is funded to the end of March 2023 by the European Regional Development Fund. EPIC has had considerable success in developing the eHealth sector in Cornwall. There is a lot of continuing work on digital health sub-projects and we seek either one full time or two half-time research adjuncts to support research fellows in the team. You will be able to work from either Truro or Plymouth but will also work in the house.
The EPIC team works with a large network of academics, SMEs, the health and social care sector, charities, students, and other organisations to further develop the eHealth sector in Cornwall. You will support various research fellows with tasks such as product scanning and internet searching, bibliographic searches, data handling and analysis, making contacts with stakeholders to recruit or invite to meetings, meeting and ascertaining needs and interests of stakeholders, designing and implementing surveys, carrying out interviews or focus groups.
You must have good communication and team working expertise, good research expertise, and an knowledge of health and social care. You should have a good first degree or equivalent in nursing, medicine, allied health professions, psychology, or social science.
