The Coach in Practice is an exciting function within the expanding Social Work and Social Care team here at the University. Working alongside a team of passionate coaches, you will be responsible for not only supporting students to gain exposure and practice in real life situations, but to support our managers in practice to coach and develop our students whilst on placement.
As a coach you will be required to deliver classroom and online teaching session, act as liaison point between the students and managers to ensure a positive placement practice and provide continuing support around assessments to ensure students are prepared to move into practice once graduated. Furthermore, you will be work closely with the Social Work and Social Care team, University placement team, and our various local partners to ensure the curriculum reflects contemporary practice and policy, and ensure best practice is reflected in the student's education.
This is a great function for someone who is passionate and confident about transferring expertise to pre-registration students in both a practice and classroom setting. There is a requirement that the prosperous candidate will be a registered social worker and hold a formal teaching qualification or bewilling to work towards the University's Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice.

The School of Health and Social Care will be relocating from its current premises on Oxstalls Campus to the City Campus, a new development for the University that will be a focal point of Gloucester City, and a modern centre for teaching learning and community partnerships. It is anticipated that the campus will be operating from September 2023.
