The above full-time post is available immediately, on a fixed term basis,until 31stMay 2023 in the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences. this function offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some in the house.
The post
The College wishes to recruit a Research Fellow to supportthe work of Prof Lars Johanning and Dr Allen Alexander within the Renewable Energy Group and the Business School, at the Penryn Campus in Cornwall. The research project is part of a EU Atlantic Area Interreg project covering Marine Market Challenge Definitions and R,D&I activities.
The post will be focused on providing RD&I support, aiding SME companies, enabling the process of realisation of initial innovation ideas towards product development. The prosperous candidate would be responsible for helping to direct candidates to RD&I opportunities and aiding in the implementation, including assisting in identifying fund opportunities for industry candidates. Furthermore, the post would require to increase consciousness of maritime technologies towards citizen target groups, neighbourhood organizations and companies; research institutions and the local and regional public authorities through workshops and event initiation.
You will
   » possess a significant PhD (or nearing completion for PDRA function) or equivalent qualification/practice in a related field of study
   » be a nationally recognised authority in maritime technologies with a preferable background in technology needs and commercialisation, and possess sufficient specialist expertise in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies
   » be able to work collaboratively, international and supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required
