Our core business activities are teaching and learning, widening access to education, research and innovation and technology and expertise transfer. - THE function - Ulster University is working in partnership with the Agri-Food Biosciences Institute in Northern Ireland to deliver a new Soil Nutrient Health Scheme to all farmers over four years. Research is required to validate critical source area risk assessments of diffuse nutrient (phosphorus) pollution and investigate patterns of nutrient attenuation across the landscape. A Research Associate in Catchment will lead the establishment of hydro-metric and hydro-chemical monitoring sites in rivers; develop and lead soil and sediment experiments for nutrient attenuation processes in critical sources areas of pollution both on land and in river systems; manage data and provide data analysis and interpretation in presentations, reports and scientific publications.
