About Us

We are Qualifications Wales, the independent organisation responsible for regulating general and vocational qualifications in Wales. We focus on publicly funded qualifications, including GCSEs, A-Levels and vocational qualifications.

We are currently looking for a Strategic Engagement Manager to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis working 37 hours per week. We are also open to discussing requests for alternative working patterns, including part-time hours and job shares.

This is a terrific opportunity for a high-calibre individual with practice working in further education (FE), work-located learning (WBL) and/or higher education (HE) to utilise their unique knowledge and skill set within our exceptional organisation.

The function

As a Strategic Engagement Manager, you will have two main areas of focus.

The first will be to promote consciousness and knowledge of the qualifications commonly taken by university candidates from Wales within the UK higher education community.

Within this, you will ensure that university admissions policies and information in relation to qualifications taken in Wales are informed, accurate and up to date, developing and delivering a programme of work to achieve these aims.

The second focus will be facilitating relationships with FE and WBL providers and providing up to date information on all qualification review and reform activity.

About You

To be considered as a Strategic Engagement Manager, you will need:

- practice working in FE, WBL and/or HE
- practice influencing and negotiating within previous functions
- practice establishing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders
- The capability to produce and disseminate complex information to a range of audiences
- Knowledge of the principles of public engagement
- An knowledge of the principles of customer relationships and account management
