Job Offer: Lecturer in Nursing Practice Development - Mental Health:Job description:Job location: Northampton About the job Interview date: 28 September 2022 The post sits within the Mental Health Field team and within the subject group of Nursing. The post holder will be required to develop the skills to be an NMC Academic Assessor and will be allocated a range of students to support within clinical placement/practice journeys. The post holder will be a core member of the clinical skills teaching team, will teach and facilitate as delegated virtual and student led placements and will be allocated teaching and assessment responsibilities commensurate with their level of practice and clinical skills. The post holder will assist in student recruitment activities and will be supported to develop as a personal academic teacher. About you You must be a Graduate Registered Mental Health Nurse (or equivalent practice) with current NMC registration. You will have at least one years post qualifying practice and have practice of supervising nursing students in clinical practice. You will be conversant with the NMC Future Nurse Standards for registered nurses and be able to teach and assess clinical skills as connected with these proficiencies. You must be able to demonstrate the capability to lead and manage work delegated to you and be able to manage competing deadlines. You must be able to plan and deliver delegated teaching and will be willing to develop the skills of marking and moderation within academic and theory modules. You must have excellent communication and networking skills and be able to maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential practice partners. You must show an appreciation of the needs for contemporary student nurses and identify and support students with personal and academic vulnerabilities. Qualifications Essential; Degree qualification or equivalent in significant subject significant professional qualification - NMC Registration Mental Health Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or availability to obtain within an agreed timescale Desirable; Master's degree in significant subject Doctorate in significant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion Right to Work All candidates will be asked to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK at interview.
