Professor Simon Draper leads a vaccine development programme, with a strong focus on malaria, antibody immunology and clinical trials. The Group's translational activity is underpinned by a strong programme of preclinical work, seeking to design and validate future generations of vaccines. The Draper Group laboratory is located at the Department of Biochemistry, forming part of a new hub for infectious disease and immunology research, our current website can be found here:https://draperlab.web.ox.ac.uk/. We are now looking to appoint a Research adjunct to provide core support to the Draper group, in particular to assist with sterile cell culture, virus production, parasite maintenance and parasite neutralisation assays.
We are particularly looking for a motivated individual with a significant degree in the area of biomedical science or a similar related field. Previous practice of sterile cell culture, virus production or immunological/antibody/ neutralisation/ELISA-type assays would be desirable. You will be highly organised, have good interpersonal expertise and be able to interact productively and accurately with other team members. Previous laboratory practice, good communication expertise and the capability to work as part of a team are essential.

This full-time fixed-term post is funded by the MRC for up to 2 years in the first instance and is located at the Department of Biochemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford.
This position is graded on the University's Grade 6 scale, for which the income range is £29,614 - £35,326 per annum. The actual starting income offered will be located on qualifications and significant expertise acquired and will also be determined by the funding available.
