Do you have practice in media and communications and a track record of delivering high impact media coverage?
Are you adept at finding the stories that will make an impression and maximising this through the use of a variety of media channels?
We are pursuing a Press & PR agent to join our Communications Team for a fixed period to July 2023 as maternity cover, to raise our profile and enhance our reputation for the quality of our research, teaching and civic engagement activities.
You'll need to be able to balance the reactive nature of the work with a proactive approach to delivering prosperous media campaigns, and to utilise your strengths in communication to handle crises management issues, which often involve sensitive or confidential information, quickly and accurately.
As Press & PR agent you will get involved in :
   » raising the profile of the University in the local, national and international media in a way that enhances its reputation
   » producing well-written news releases, media briefings, social media posts and expert comments and targeting key influencers with compelling stories about the University, supported by digital content
   » supporting academic staff in their work with the media, helping them to maximise all media opportunities
What We are seeking for in the right candidate :
   » substantial practice and an outstanding record in media and communications work
   » practice in using social media and online communications tools, and availability to keep abreast of new developments in this area through appropriate CPD activities
   » excellent interpersonal expertise with the capability to build effective working relationships and handle a wide variety of contacts tactfully and persuasively
