We are pursuing to appoint a Head of Race Equality Charter (REC) to lead the design, development and operation of agile, responsive and inclusive member-led REC services and connected member benefits for universities and research institutes. The Head of REC will help shape the Race Equality Charter for disparate national and international contexts and willlead the engagement with key sector communities and bodies, engaging with, and responding to, feedback from senior leaders and networks around the continuing development and impact of REC services.

About the function
This exciting function provides a unique opportunity for an individual to combine strong relationship management expertise with practice of providing strategic, developmental and operational advice and guidance in relation to supporting institutional change and advancing race equality.
The REC team is situated within Advance HE's Membership, Innovation and Development team and work closely with colleagues across Advance HE particularly with colleagues supporting the Athena Swan charters in the UK and Ireland and those managing our relationships with member institutions. The REC team work alongside Operations, which includes the Charters Co-ordination Executive and Charters Co-ordinators, who provide operational support across the Equality Charters teams.
The income for this function is within the range of £50,000 - £56,600 per annum.
Full time hours are 35 hours per week.
this function will be mostly home located with a York or London office base for occasional face to face meetings.
An element of travel will be required, mainly within the UK, to carry out the tasks of the function.
