We're searching for qualified and practiced registered mental health nurses for exciting new functions within our Secure Services Directorate at Langdon Hospital in Dawlish.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) you will use your skills, knowledge and knowledge of mental health care to assess patients, then develop, implement and evaluate a programme of care for them.
The Secure Services Directorate can be challenging, but the work is highly compensateing. As a trust, we embrace the recovery approach, embracing a holistic approach to care. You will be willing to lead, inspiring your colleagues to deliver care that helps patients on the road to recovery.

About you


You will be passionate about making a difference to people's lives. You will be responsible for managing and directing the care of some of the most vulnerable people we are responsible for, many of whom will have complex and continuing needs.
You will use your skills and practice to develop packages of treatment that focus on recovery, where possible, helping the people we care for to regain some independence. We call it ‘inspiring hope - together'.
An practiced and qualified nurse, you will be able to demonstrate specific examples of how your involvement has improved patient care, the patient practice and how you have influenced teams to deliver high-quality care.
The function involves deputising for more senior staff and setting an example for other members of staff. You will exemplify the recovery approach, taking a holistic approach to care that involves the entire person.
Personally, you will be a clear and confident communicator, capable of interacting and working effectively with people who use our services, their families and carers, staff and stakeholders from all backgrounds.
Working independently, you will make decisions that change lives every single day.
Due to the nature of the function, all staff are required to both attend and pass a physical restraint assessment as you may be involved in restraint incidents on a regular basis. This is a requirement to ensure we meet the needs of our patients and remain effective in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of all.
