The function

As a Combined Graduate Teaching adjunct, you will carrying out a substantial teaching activity within a clear and established programme, with guidance and support. You will be delivering teaching activities as well as marking coursework and exams, providing timely and effective feedback to students and Postgraduate project supervision, with a focus on providing a high-quality learning and teaching practice to students. You will be supported to develop your own professional practice.

candidates need to contact ahead of the deadline a potential manager at Newcastle University and are expected to include a supporting statement from their potential manager with the application. Please be aware that each manager can support one applicant at most. The prosperous candidates will be registered on the Combined PhD programme in Computer Science. The contract duration is aligned with the duration of the PGR programme (5 years). In addition to the 0.4 FTE contract, prosperous candidates will receive an annual £6,000 scholarship to support their PGR project and a fee waiver. Please note, this fee waiver is only applicable to students who are employed as Combined GTA.

Your application should include, a teaching statement describing your teaching practice and vision and its alignment to the School of Computing; a research statement describing your research proposal; and a letter of support from your potential manager in the School of Computing.

Teaching presentations and interviews are expected to take place in the week commencing Monday 18 July 2022
