Job Offer: Professor in International Security:Job description:Job location: Pontypridd The Faculty of Life Sciences and Education at the University of South Wales is currently seeking applications for a Professor in International Security. The School of Health, Sport and Professional Practice is a dynamic part of the University which is active in both research and consultancy, underpinned by a rapidly expanding Policing and Security portfolio at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. located at Pontypridd, the prosperous candidate will possess a range of expertise necessary to complement and enhance scholarly activity within the school, and to assist its growing reputation both locally and internationally. The post holder will be expected to undertake research that is world class or internationally excellent and to produce high quality outputs that are appropriate for inclusion in the next REF. candidates will be expected to demonstrate an outstanding track record of research including a strong publication record and practice of obtaining external research funding. The main purpose of the job is to strengthen further the research profile of The International Centre for Policing and Security and enhance its submission to the next REF. This post supports the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence VIRTUE, the Jean Monnet Network on EU Counter-Terrorism EUCTER and the Jean Monnet module EUHYBRID. It will also support the MSc degree International Security and Risk Management (also Distance Learning delivery), as well as applications for future research funding. The prosperous candidate will also be required to inspire and supervise others as they research and work towards publications, and they will also supervise post graduate students within the research areas of international security.
