To build on Rolls-Royce's 50-year history of submarine engineering in Derby, a Nuclear Skills Academy has been created, dedicated to nuclear training within Derby city. This is a collaboration between the University of Derby, Rolls-Royce Plc, the National College for Nuclear, and the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (NAMRC). The Nuclear Skills Academy will meet Rolls-Royce's current and future need for world-class, technical talent, maintaining and growing this unique and substantial centre of nuclear engineering skills, underpinned by uncompromising standards of quality and excellence. This is an exciting time as we continue to develop our strategy of building and sustaining capacity in six thematic areas, including data science and net zero. Our applied research skills in advanced materials, manufacturing and data science will ensure the curriculum and learning practice meets and surpasses the standards required from the nuclear and defence industries. A physical nuclear skills academy located at the iHub, Infinity Park, will complement the existing innovation facilities at Rolls-Royce and the NAMRC. These skills are vital to sustaining cutting-edge innovation activity and continuous development and implementation of new technology and techniques. We are seeking to recruit a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Business & Management to deliver on our Business and leadership abilities Apprenticeship programme. An academic with a demonstrated capability to contribute to the design and delivery of work located, blended and online modules/courses would be the desired candidate. We would also welcome applications from professionals, particularly those who have practice working in sectors such as Nuclear and Advanced Manufacturing or in subject disciplines such as Project Management, HR and Strategy. You will combine a passion for teaching, research, with the capability to inspire students at a distance and to contribute to business curriculum development and enhancement. candidates should have considerable professional practice and/or have a sound background in academia that is of direct relevance the subject area. It is also our expectation that the candidates possess PhD (or comparable practice) and have taught at the Higher Education level in a significant subject area.
