This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of enthusiastic, dynamic and friendly staff within the School of Psychology to lead on our newGraduate and Postgraduate Certificates for Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitionersthat began in March 2022. The function will involve strategic leadership abilities, interfacing with various NHS Trusts and Health Education England to develop our portfolio of courses for the education of new front-line, Secondary Care adult mental health psychological professionals in line with HEE funding and NHS directives. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates with NHS located clinical practice practice.
The prosperous candidate(s) will be confident and competent in teaching across all areas of mental health and wellbeing, including assessing, planning and delivering interventions for adults with severe mental health problems. They will also act as a personal academic tutor (PAT) to students on the Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner course.Their teaching approach will be student-centred and research or practice-inspired. As the function will also require the development and maintenance of productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including NHS colleagues, the prosperous candidate(s) will need a high level of interpersonal skill. They will have a strong commitment to continuing professional development, scholarly engagement and to interprofessional and international perspectives.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner course sits within the School of Psychology at the University of Worcester. We have a thriving BPS accredited suite of BSc Psychology courses running since 1994 and a number of postgraduate courses including Counselling, Business and Occupational Psychology, EMDR Therapy and knowledge Domestic and Sexual Violence.
