We are pursuing a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to join our Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) to carry out ground breaking research on the ECLIPSE programme. This is an exciting opportunity for a social scientist with practice in global health research to work on a major programme of research on the neglected tropical disease cutaneous leishmaniasis. The prosperous candidate will contribute to the delivery of a major global health programme funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), ECLIPSE: ?Empowering people with cutaneous leishmaniasis: intervention programme to improve patient journey and reduce stigma via community education'.
this function will involve a number of short field trips to one or more of the ECLIPSE countries (Brazil, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom) and training retreats in the UK.
The award of a PhD in Medical Anthropology, Global Health or related social science subject is required prior to taking up this position. Candidates in the final stages of completing their degree are encouraged to apply provided they can provide a reference attesting that their PhD viva will be held by August 2022.

As Postdoctoral Research Associate you will:
   » contribute to the development of the research project to achieve key milestones in the research programme
   » take a leading function in developing and maintaining collaborations with colleagues
   » write up the research work for publication in high quality peer reviewed journals and research reports
   » prepare papers and present information on research progress and results
   » travel to ECLIPSE countries
To be prosperous in this function you will have/be:
   » PhD in Medical Anthropology, Global Health or related social science subject (or to be in the final stages of obtaining such a qualification by the starting date of the position)
   » practice of undertaking qualitative research, including ethnography, semi-structured interviews and focus groups
   » good written and oral communication expertise
   » enthusiasm and motivation for research
