Job Opportunity: Postgraduate bursaries for teacher training PGCE Secondary Physics:Job description:Job location: Bath, Bristol, Swindon About the function Want to teach? Passionate about physics? You could be eligible for a £24,000 teaching bursary or a £26,000 scholarship (both tax-free) from the Department for Education when you train to teach Physics in secondary school. Bath Spa University's School of Education offers a full-time Post Graduate Certificate (PGCE) in Secondary Physics, which is ranked ?Outstanding' by OFSTED. Training with Bath Spa will not only provide you with professional and academic skills, but you can graduate with a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and 60 Master's Level Credits. At Bath Spa you will receive excellent support from our practiced tutors and mentors, and teaching which combines theory with up-to-date research. Our network of over 670 partners across the region - including schools and colleges - offers placements which give you real-world practice as part of your course. About you (requirements) You'll be enthusiastic about science and working with children; be organised, flexible and unflappable; have great communication skills, a strong work ethic and emotional resilience. To apply for a PGCE Secondary Physics at Bath Spa University, you'll need: » to have completed, or be in the final year of, a UK degree (or equivalent) » to have achieved good honours with at least 50% appropriate physics content » GCSE passes at grade 4/C or above (or recognised equivalents) including English, mathematics and a science subject » Physics A-level If you're unsure if you have the necessary subject expertise, we may recommend that you take a Subject expertise Enhancement course.
