Through enabling innovation, making the right judgements of the benefits and risks of medical products and forging the right partnerships in the UK and internationally, it aims to deliver world class regulation and improved results for UK patients. we At Present have a great full-time opportunity for a Senior Scientist to join our Standards Lifecycle sub-group in the Scientific Research and Innovation group on a fixed-term basis (13.5 months contract). The function is funded for 13.5 months by a collaboration with the United States Pharmacopoeial Commission, to support the development of physical reference materials to serve as system suitcapability standards for therapeutic monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). The function aims to progress three projects: (1) development of a bespoke mAb reference material containing high molecular weight variants, to support testing for such variants in therapeutic mAbs; (2) development of a proteolyzed mAb preparation to support peptide mapping of therapeutic mAbs; and (3) development of a degraded mAb preparation to support testing for charged variants in therapeutic mAbs. Who are we looking for? The prosperous candidate will be expected to have skills and skills in protein chemistry and modification, and physicochemical characterisation methods such HPLC, mass spectrometry and capillary electrophoresis. In addition, you will understand the function of pharmacopoeia, including the function of physical reference materials, and the principles of system suitcapability. You will have practice of leading complex collaborative scientific projects management, and of working under a quality management system. You will be able to engage with internal and external stakeholders and be adept at gathering, analysing, and presenting information to a range of audiences. You will be a confident self-starter, who can operate both autonomously and collaboratively.?
