We are seeking for a multi-skilled Caretaker (internally known as a Facilities Management adjunct) to support in the delivery of an efficient Facilities Management service, which will include but not be limited to removals, deliveries, litter picking, waste collection, recycling and caretaking. this function is offered on a full time and continuing basis (35 hours per week). The hours for this function will be: Mon-Fri 10am-6pm.
To be prosperous in the function, you will have:
   » A full current UK driving licence
   » practice of minor caretaking/core activities of the function
   » Customer consciousness and the capability to provide a high quality service at all times
   » Proven practice of compliance with health and safety procedures and safe working practices
   » Good communication expertise including written and spoken English
   » practice of or availability to work outdoors

The Department
this function is offered by the Estates Department. The Estates Department provides a number of essential services to the University of Kent and is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the broad grounds and buildings; the security of students, staff and visitors; transport and travel; a postal service and the University Design & Print Centre. It is also responsible for the buildings, new development and construction projects both at Canterbury and at our Medway campus at Chatham Maritime and on the Chatham Historic Dock Yard.
