We are now looking for a Service Desk Technician within the IT Service Delivery department at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David Carmarthen campus on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.
- THE function -
The Service Desk Technician function is to provide 1st and 2nd line IT support for end users to receive support and maintenance within the University's desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.
The function will also troubleshoot problem areas via our IT Service Desk system (as well as in person, by telephone, or via e-mail) in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user assistance where required.
- ABOUT YOU -
To be considered as a Service Desk Technician, you will need:
   » Previous practice in providing high quality technical support
   » Excellent technical expertise of desktop hardware
   » Excellent customer service expertise
   » Hands-on IT troubleshooting practice
   » Working technical expertise of current protocols, operating systems, and standards
   » Provide telephone support cover for the Central Service Desk Team as required, in order to maintain the IT Service Delivery Department's support provision
   » practice of common software tools, components and peripheral accessories
