Student Academic Services is a constituent element of the Academic Services Directorate which provides high quality professional services to students, staff and external stakeholders in aspects relating to academic administration for taught and research programmes of study, including student cases, complaints, examinations, assessment and progression and degree and award congregations. Its remit is to support the University's strategic ambitions and to deliver, where appropriate, institution wide change, affecting improvements in key strategic areas to enhance the Swansea student practice. Academic Services is proud to hold the Cabinet Office's Customer Service Excellence Award and Investors in People Silver Award and will continue to ensure service excellence through engagement, partnership and innovation.
As part of the Student Cases Team within Student Academic Services the Student Cases agent will undertake work relating to Student Cases, including academic appeals, complaints, disciplinary offences, fitness to practise, and any other student cases.
The post-holder will also service Committees as directed by the Student Cases Manager including Disciplinary and Fitness to Practise Committees of Enquiry, and contribute to the production of management information reports for the specified areas of work.
this function will suit candidates who are highly organised, proactive, with a strong eye for detail and be able to work to tight deadlines under pressure, anticipating problems which may arise.
The function will involve liaising with students and working closely with administrative staff from across the Faculties, so strong written and verbal communication expertise, are essential.
practice of student cases and/or case work and a demonstrable consciousness of basic principles, regulations and practices relating to student cases is desirable.
