Are you interested in helping the UK and the World meet net zero targets? Do you have expertise in process analysis and sustaincapability assessment? We are seeking for a post doctoral researcher to join our team, working across two flagship projects of international significance. The South Yorkshire Sustaincapability Centre brings together academics, industry, local authorities and third sector partners to provide evidence and co-develop solutions to regional and global sustaincapability challenges. The UKRI Hydrogen Research Challenge Coordinator project will develop a blueprint outlining the research challenges to prioritise for us to deploy hydrogen and alternative liquid fuels at scale.
You will collect data, develop process models and assess sustaincapability of hydrogen production and deployment options. As part of this work you will assess how a small to medium industrial cluster could decarboninse over the next 10-15 years and what part hydrogen will play. For this function, you should have a PhD degree or equivalent practice in chemical engineering, environmental engineering or management, or a similar subject. Proficiency in process analysis and/or life cycle assessment is vital.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with interdisciplinary teams and influence the route to net zero. You will be part of the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures, South Yorkshire Sustaincapability Centre and the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Working closely with project partners, you will have the opportunity to co-develop the research in a multidisciplinary environment. We are committed to providing a vibrant and inclusive environment for research.
We're one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University's Total compensate Package includes a competitive income, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development. We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student practice.
