We are pursuing a Research Nurse, to support clinical and research activities in dementia and mental health, at the Herchel Smith Building for Brain and Mind Sciences. The post is for 12 months with the potential for an extension to 2027. The Herchel Smith Building Clinical Suite hosts world-leading clinical research in neurological and psychiatric diseases, and the NHS Cambridge Memory Clinics and related services.
The post holder will play a critical function in ensuring the smooth running and success of the clinical suite, facilitating clinical studies and clinics, with good governance, access, and Health & Safety. The post holder will help studies with practical tasks where appropriate such as greeting and consenting study participants, and phlebotomy.
The post holder will work with a dedicated group of research nurses located in the Herchel Smith building, and broader research teams of clinical academics and scientists in the University Departments of Clinical Neurosciences and Psychiatry.
This post will suit a person with exceptional organizational expertise to manage the logistics of a busy patient-focused research facility. This includes coordinating rooms and availcapability of equipment within the clinic, including Electroencephalography (EEG) and Trans Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) equipment. The post requires excellent inter-personal expertise as the first point of contact for attendees, greeting study participants, patients attending clinic, and communicating with a range of colleagues from clinical and academic backgrounds.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the prosperous candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with children and adults' barred lists). This appointment also requires a Research Passport application.
*This is an integrated appointment between the University and the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust ("NHS Trust"). You will therefore also be issued with an Honorary Clinical Contract by the NHS Trust. You should be aware that if your contract with the NHS Trust is terminated your employment with the University will be terminated, and vice versa.*
*You will require NMC registration for the duration of your appointment.*
