About the function
We are seeking for a two well-rounded Clinical Trial Managers to join the Surgical Intervention Trials Unit (SITU), and lead on two national phase III randomised controlled trials.
The Trial Managers will coordinate the design, implementation and running of the trials across participating hospital sites in the UK. This is a great opportunity to play a pivotal function in the success of these randomised trials from start to finish.
The two postholders will act as Trial Managers within the SITU Group, initially responsible for the overall running and management of the assigned clinical trial. This will involve supporting the participating clinical centres, tracking progress at each centre and taking appropriate action to ensure good recruitment, compliance with the protocol and the quality and timeliness of the data collection. The Trial Manager will also provide regular feedback on progress of the trial to the Chief Investigators and SITU Operational Lead and ensure the study is established and run in conformity with OCTRU Standard Operating Procedures. The Trial Manager will also work across other projects within SITU as a part of a multi-disciplinary research team.
About you
The two prosperous candidates will be educated to degree level in a biomedical or connected subject and will have proven practice in clinical research. You must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to motivate and negotiate at a senior level. You will be confident and friendly, able to work autonomously and have proven skills of organising and managing the work of a professional team. You will be highly computer literate with skills in the use of word processing, document layouts, spreadsheets and databases. A current expertise of clinical trial regulations and governance is essential. These two full-time posts are available immediately and fixed-term for 2 years in the first instance, with a possible extension of up to 6 years (depending on funding)
