Research adjunct (Questionnaire Content):Job description:Job location: Colchester The Institute for Social and Economic Research wishes to appoint a Research adjunct to assist with the core survey tasks in developing the knowledge Society: UK Household Longitudinal Study (UKHLS). tasks of the function The post holder will be involved in research to improve the design of knowledge Society's questionnaires and fieldwork operations. You will provide assistance and support to researchers working on the project, including conducting reviews of other surveys and scientific literature, assisting with testing of computerised questionnaire scripts and assisting with writing papers using the study's data. This assistance could include basic data analysis using standard statistical software such as STATA or R. A full list of tasks and responsibilities of the function can be found within the job pack. Qualifications and expertise required This post is open to candidates from any disciplinary background, but you should hold a Masters degree (or be close to completion of your studies at this level or have equivalent research practice) in social science research methods methodology or related quantitative social science, coupled with an undergraduate degree in quantitative social science. candidates should have interests in survey methods, developing innovative questionnaire design, and the improvement of survey quality, with the capcapability to lgain new methods and produce concise reports. You should also have a proven capability to carry out complex work requiring attention to detail, to produce high quality work within deadlines and to communicate with multiple stakeholders to determine and carry out project goals. This is a fixed-term post for two years in the first instance. Whilst it is a full-time post, we would also welcome part-time applications at 0.8 FTE (28.8 hours per week).
