The Opportunity:
The Head of Development Services leads one of five sections within Applications Directorate and the Development Services section consists of three teams and over 30 staff. In this function, you will establish strategies and opportunities to keep software and technology development up to date in a complex University environment. The coming years will require substantial engagement in an ever faster evolving technology sector, where SaaS integrations, API development, secure software development, DevOps, and automation/orchestration are key areas the section plays a leading function.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working in the higher education sector where collaboration and working together is highly valued. Technical knowledge and practice will be fundamental in being prosperous in this function as well as having a ?can do? attitude. Excellent communication and the capability to interact both with senior technical staff and business partners are a key asset in being able to excel in this function.

   » Previous significant practice of managing major IT projects or services with good all-round consciousness of significant technology and business best practice.
   » A proven track record of prosperously managing staff and project
   » practice in working in a DevOps environment and knowledge concepts of DevOps
   » Strong verbal and written communication expertise with the proven capability to prosperously interact with senior technical and business staff.
   » Strong customer focus and team building expertise with excellent leadership abilities.
