Liberal Arts is an innovative and interdisciplinary programme that offers undergraduate students the choice to study across the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences and Sciences at the University of Nottingham. We are pursuing to appoint a Teaching Associate who can deliver existing core modules for the Liberal Arts programme, as well as guide and mentor students in their exploration of interdisciplinary learning. Candidates must have a PhD awarded by the start date of the post. The area of skills is open, though preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate interdisciplinary engagement in their teaching as well as a global perspective.
The function holder will be expected to contribute fully to the Liberal Arts programme's teaching requirements. Candidates should have practice of teaching at an undergraduate level, an interest or practice in pedagogical innovation, and the capability to deliver teaching and tutorial support as part of a team. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the capcapability of designing and delivering high quality and up-to-date teaching materials.
Liberal Arts and interdisciplinary teaching are dynamic and growing fields within the University of Nottingham. Liberal Arts has established a culture of pedagogical innovation, close collaboration amongst colleagues, a global outlook and a friendly and supportive learning environment for students. The function holder will contribute fully to the Liberal Arts programme and will have the opportunity for professional development and career progression.
This position is available on a part-time (18.12 hours per week) fixed-term basis from 1st September 2022 (or as soon as possible thereafter) to 30th June 2024.
