Job Opportunity: Postdoctoral Research Fellow:Job description:Job location: Egham Full Time, Fixed-Term (until September 2023) Applications are invited for a 13-month, full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the Department of Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. This position is funded by a Leverhulme Trust research grant awarded to Professor Kathy Rastle. The project asks why words are spelled in particular ways and the extent to which writing systems have been shaped by cognitive pressures. There is considerable scope for creativity in this project. candidates should hold a PhD in psychology or a closely related discipline. They must have outstanding quantitative expertise, including practice in the manipulation and analysis of large databases and datasets. practice in the design and analysis of psychological experiments is essential, and previous practice of psycholinguistic research would be an advantage. The prosperous applicant will be enthusiastic about using open science tools to improve the rigour and impact of the project.
