We are seeking for a Doctoral Training Co-ordinator in the Department of Computer Science.
About the function:
located in the Department of Computer Science, you will support the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Accountable, Responsible and Transparent Artificial Intelligence (ART-AI) to ensure the engagement of both internal and external stakeholders. You will be at the heart of this exciting doctoral training programme, working alongside excellent students, companies and academic staff. You are expected to ensure the smooth operation and administration of the postgraduate research and taught programmes connected with ART-AI as and when required. This may include assisting with student recruitment, directing students to appropriate support services, and helping to arrange and organise doctoral training or public engagement events.
The post is a full time (36.5 hours per week), fixed term position for two years with an expected end date of 31/07/2024.
About you:
A key part of the function will be liaising with external sites and stakeholders, including our external partners. You must be confident and credible operating within each of these environments. Excellent communication, negotiation and organisation expertise are vital, as is the capability to work with substantial independence. Travel with overnight stays within the UK may occasionally be necessary.
About us:
The UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Accountable, Responsible and Transparent Artificial Intelligence (ART-AI) was founded at the University of Bath in 2019. The primary aim of the centre is to train doctoral students through a four year integrated PhD programme. The students spend their first year following a masters-level training course. During the subsequent three years of the research phase of the programme the students carry out research, often in collaboration with external stakeholders.
ART-AI collaborates with a range of stakeholders, including companies, other academic institutions and government bodies located in the UK and internationally. The CDT works with industry and other partners to train the next generation of specialists knowledge and informing the development of responsible AI solutions. Potential external interactions include long-term co-funded projects, short-term student placements, academic exchange visits, and shared delivery of training.
