Applications are invited for a position in the whole animal physiology and imaging facility (WAPI) at the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS) located on the Hammersmith Hospital campus of Imperial College London. The facility carries out a variety of metabolic phenotyping procedures. The post-holder's primary responsibility will initially be to run the Columbus Instrument Comprehensive Lab Animal Monitoring System (CLAMS) and to help carry out in vivo procedures in rodent models. Depending on their previous practice the post-holder will become involved in one or several other procedures, for example: measurement of various cardiovascular functions, isolation of primary cells, running of the Seahorse XF cell metabolism analyser, imaging such as ECHO MRI and genotyping.
The LMS at Hammersmith Hospital is one of three directly funded MRC research institutes and enjoys close links with its partners at Imperial College London and at the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Research at the LMS focuses on strengthening the basic science underpinning our knowledge of human diseases and the translation of high quality research into a clinical setting.
