This new full-time post is available immediately on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2023.
this function offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some in the house - although we would expect you to spend a significant amount time on our Penryn campus.

The function
The Research IT team is part of Exeter IT and this is an exciting opportunity to be part of that team. The Research IT team support researchers with all of their IT requirements, from bespoke hardware, support on high-performance compute (HPC) to software development, working alongside the wider Exeter IT department.
located on our Penryn campus in Cornwall, the prosperous candidate will possess an up to date expertise of significant technologies, coupled with a strong focus on user requirements and strategic planning, which will deliver a computing infrastructure capable of facilitating world-class research. Good communication expertise will play a vital function in liaising effectively with colleagues elsewhere in the University to ensure the delivery of ahigh-qualityservice to end-users.
candidates will have a degree in significant academic area or equivalent. candidates will have practice of Windows, macOS and Linux administration, and practice of supporting a range of hardware from laptops through to rack mounted servers and storage. expertise and practice of university research would be an advantage, as would other practice enabling the candidate to contribute to research.
