Position: Telephone Switchboard Attendant
Status: Permanent, Full Time
income: $42,353 (Start) to $66,622 (at 30 Months)

The London Police Service is now accepting applications for Telephone Switchboard Attendant. The Telephone Switchboard Attendant works alongside the Headquarters Reception Unit agents. The Telephone Switchboard Attendants are one of the first call takers members of the public will speak with when contacting the non-emergency line. Specific responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:

tasks and Responsibilities
   » Maintain security of and issuance of keys and identification tags and monitor closed circuit TV.
   » Answer all general enquiries and telephone calls promptly and courteously by directing them to the appropriate area or to one of the Headquarters Reception Unit Conreliables.
   » Input general computer data as assigned by the Headquarters Reception Unit manager.
   » Enter calls for ARU, Property Pickup, and other units onto the "queue" system of the LPS Versaterm system.
   » Enter duty schedules on the Computer Aided Dispatch system; and
   » All other tasks as assigned within the core competencies. General Requirements:
   » Secondary School Diploma
   » 12-18 months previous related practice
   » Minimum typing speed of 40 w.p.m. Hours of Duty: Switchboard is operational seven (7) days a week - 0800-1800; 1200-2200 (Including Statutory Holidays).

income: $42,353 (Start) to $66,622 (at 30 Months)

Condition of Employment:

All London Police Service employees are required to be fully vaccinated (defined as completion of the full vaccination cycle with a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada) as a condition of hire unless there is a valid exemption pursuant to the Human Rights Code.
